Aid to Inmate Mothers
|
To provide an opportunity for incarcerated mothers to visit with their children during visitation hours and to assist both mothers and children in different ways.

To provide loving kindness in a variety of ways to support a person suffering with AIDS.

Babies First
|
To help provide “hands on” support for mothers and babies at the Birmingham area residential United Methodist Children’s Home.

Birmingham Hospitality Network
|
To provid support to homeless families in the Birmingham area, with the end objective of working to get the families back on their feet and living independently.

Black Belt Tutorial
|
To provide children in Alabama’s Black Belt a program of Christian academics via after-school tutorial programs
|
|
Bunny Aid
|
To provide Easter baskets to children who would not otherwise receive an Easter Basket. This includes children living in shelters, under the care of DHR, and other low-income situations.

Car Ministry
|
To assist needy individuals with the procurement or repair of a vehicle so they can maintain or obtain gainful employment.
|
|
Celebration Singers
|
To provide joyful musical entertainment to nurshing home residents in the Birmingham area.
|

Children's Harbor
|
To share God's love through meals, games, prizes, and crafts to families whose children are being treated at Children's Hospital.
|
|
Church of the Reconciler
|
To provide food and friendship to the hungry and homeless of Birmingham.
|

Clothing Ministry
|
To provide clothing to those in need.
|
|
Dream Gardens
|
To minister to children, youth and their families by providing tutoring, counseling, Bible study, recreation, field trips, arts and crafts and computer classes.

Equipment to Lend Ministry
|
The church maintains an assortment of wheelchairs, walker, and other equipment needed by persons with mobility difficulties. The slightly used equipment has been donated to us. In turn, we make it available at no cost to individuals and families for both short and long-term use.

Fairhaven
|
To provide loving Christian support to the Fairhaven Retirement Community through visitation and donation of gently used clothing items.
|

First Light
|
To assist First Light with its daily operation of providing room, board and care for the homeless women and children of Birmingham.
|

Food Pantry
|
To provide food for families in need.
|
|
Greater Birmingham Ministries
|
To provide drivers to pick up and deliver food donations from the United Way Food Bank to GBM.
|
|
Habitat for Humanity
|
To assist in the construction of homes for people in need.
|

Hands on Birmingham
|
To engage members of our community in hands-on volunteer service.
|

Hope Lodge Ministry
|
To serve a meal and fellowship with out-of-town cancer patients that are undergoing treatment and residing in the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge. The meal is prepared by the church kitchen.

Jackson Elementary Tutoring
|
To assist 2nd grade Jackson Elementary School children who need individual tutoring in basic math and reading skills.
|

Kairos Prison Ministry
|
To serve prisoners on a spiritual weekend (a Kairos weekend) as a friend and guide.
|

Meals on Wheels
|
To pick up and deliver hot meals and offer a friendly face and positive relationship with the clients that require assistance.

Mobile Recreation
|
To create a safe, Christian environment where people of all ages and backgrounds can experience the love of Christ in new and exciting ways through music, games, crafts, and sports.

Oak Mountain Missions
|
To provide volunteer assistance for the various components of ministry provided by the Oak Mountain Mission (food pantry, clothing closet, etc.).

Pathways
|
To support Pathways’ mission of addressing issues impacting homeless women and children by providing hot meals, basic hygiene products, and household items.
|

Prayer Shawl Ministry
|
This group meets monthly to knit or crochet shawls which are delivered by our clergy and others to persons in nursing or retirement homes, hospitals,or private homes as reminders of our love and God's presence with them during illness, grief, and other difficulties.

The Foundry
|
To provide support to the Foundry's Christian based 12-month drug and alcohol recovery and re-entry program.

Tutwiler Prison Ministry
|
To share Christ’s love in worship services with ladies incarcerated at Julia Tutwiler Prison.

Urban Ministry
|
To support Urban Ministry with weekly food service volunteers and helping with special events.

|
To assist in disaster relief efforts in nearby communities and throughout the United States.
